I picked up this pack because it looks like the perfect “healthy” biscuit. It has 0% Added Maida, 0% Added Sugar and High in Fibre on the front. Then I turned it around and read the ingredients. And honestly, I was shocked.
Wait a minute. If this biscuit is supposed to be a healthier choice, why does it need so many ingredients? Does that mean the company is fooling consumers? Not necessarily. However, the difference between a marketing claim and the overall nutritional value of a food deserves a closer look.
So let’s go through it together, one ingredient at a time. In the end I’ll tell you whether this biscuit is really good or just good marketing.
